Feedback from our Trinity Community Group Meeting with Police and Fire Services

Thank you to everyone who came to the recent public meeting and to those people, who got in touch but couldn’t make the meeting. The number of people present was exceptional and demonstrates how strongly people care about our community.

The arson in the early hours of 22nd October was disappointing, but what’s very clear is that things are different now. The community is working with each other. Police officers have been more visible on our streets and are speaking to witnesses and now more police resources are on their way.

We’ve learnt about the importance of reporting incidents rather than assuming that someone else is doing it. As well as the importance of physical communication, rather than just relying on electronic communication.

Please continue to report incidents and suspicious activity but try not to speculate on who the culprit is. It would be too easy to falsely accuse someone.

Residents can contact the Police on 101 for non emergencies, 999 in an emergency or report anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Sergeant Rachel Clarke said ‘If in doubt about who to call, call 999 and the call handler will route your call to the appropriate number
