Trinity Street Party 18th August 2018

Trinity Community Group organised a  well attended free street party in August sponsored by Frome Town Council and LiveWest, music and PA was provided by Frome FM, those attending were treated to a lavish buffet, along with organised games, activity stalls and the traditional ‘Name The Dog’ and “Guess How Many Sweets’ stalls, everyone loved the junk gardening initiative to cheer up the area, using all sorts of containers, recycled as plant pots, including tyres, plastic pots and even a few wellies.  Residents who attended said that they welcomed the opportunity to get to know each other and share ideas for the future.  Many raised concerns around issues and were pleased to be able to speak face to face to councillors. A huge Thank you to all councillors who attended, helped set up and cleared up afterwards., as well as to Kate Hellard, who did so much to make sure that the event was a success.

Gardening

At the street party we provided painted tyres and plants which staff at the school are keen to adopt and use in the space immediately outside of the school.  We are looking to continue to build this project with a view to building a group of residents interested in a more substantial community garden.  Several residents have now expressed a desire to be involved in this project, which we are looking at as a slow build.
